Mixing process – Part 1.
I just got the first test of the sound for the coming album, and once again Dan Swanö comes thru with the best of them. After some small things that I wanted corrected right away (higher bass was ofcourse one of them, haha) it now seems like we are getting closer to what will eventually become the final soundscape. The drum sound is real heavy and those toms sound amazing. For the first time in the history of TPH we are not using triggers for the kicks and the snare as they sound fantastic as they are. I guess it helps that Tobben plays too, haha… Since I have been listening to the raw files for some time it’s really nice to finally be able to hear everything that Tobben plays, and boy – this guy is so good it’s fucken insane. He’s making the material more “alive” than ever before.
Dan are now working on some smaller things to make my wishes (aka demands) come to fruition and I guess in a day or two we will have settled for what will eventually become it.
