And yet another update!

I won’t be long now, just a few words to let you in on what’s up in The Hate Camp. No groundbreaking news, but fuck it. Anyways, what’s happening right now is that I am throughly dissecting everything (again… and again… and again…) as far as orchestras, loops, guitars and bass go. It’s always great to let the material rest for a bit and then go back and see if there’s anything that can be improved. Working like this, with no deadlines, is excellent and it really gives me the time to put my everything into this album. I have said it before, but you’ll definitely notice how we have stepped up yet another notch when you get to hear this beautiful offspring of pure devilry.

Dirk is recording his drums in between his busy schedule of drum clinics and being a superhero. Ruby is sending over stuff every week for me to approve (and goddamn is she approved!) and J is going thru the stuff I have recorded for him when the time comes for him to start putting down his work in ART Studios, Stockholm. I have yet to hear what Mike Wead is cooking up solo-wise, but you know that guy delivers with the best of them considering he’s one of the best damned guitar players to walk this earth. I know Lasse Johansson (of Candlemass fame) is anxious to get into the studio and deliver his parts too, and he will do so as soon as possible. Things are coming together piece by piece, and just becoz I might repeat myself with these updates (or do not report much at all at times) doesn’t mean things are not being worked on. They are… trust me.

Now, if you excuse me, I’ll go back to more seriously deranged detail work.

Mr. Dirk Verbeuren checks in…

“- What’s up folks?! I’m happy as hell to announce that the drum tracks for chapter 1 of the upcoming new TPH manifesto are freshly carved and nailed! You guys ’n gals are probably impatient to find out what this monster will sound like, right? Well, here’s a few key words for you! Epic – crushing –  groovy – grinding – unique! Mouth watering yet? Haha! More updates from Die Crawling HQ as soon as I move ahead with chapter 2.”

Dirk is doing a fantastic job as expected and the first song (the actual opener for the album actually) is recorded to fantastic results. I am constantly working with the details during this process, making sure this album will be monumental in every way. We will keep you updated on every step of the process, so keep checking in here or at our forums.

Be quick or be dead…

J is currently going thru all of the stuff I have recorded for him so he knows what to deliver (with his own unique and dominating twist, as always). We’re not sure when he’ll start recording, but he’ll work that out. Ruby’s sending over her demoed stuff for the second tune as I type this and it sounds absolutely killer. This is shaping up to be so fucken killer, if I may say so. I just can’t wait until these 2 start to record their stuff for real. Should be completed sometime this summer, I guess. Dirk’s hard at work as well and will try to hand you an update as we go along.

Another big step completed for the recording.

I just finished up all of J‘s vocal guidelines and will send everything over to him shortly so he can go thru it and get a glimpse of what I have in mind for his vocals. This means he’s free to start recording whenever he’s got the time in his busy schedule of being a superstar of insane proportions. It feels great to have this part of the process down, meaning I can now go back and work with the small details within all the songs. My work is pretty much done at this stage, now it’s up to the rest of the heroes in the band (and stand-in drummer/phenomenon Dirk Verbeuren) to deliver their magic and make this album what it’s supposed to be – the best work we ever created.

I also think I have all the song titles down now… There is a possibility one might change though, we’ll see…

Are you with us?

A little update on the process…

1. Ruby’s done with all of her vocal lines and lyrics for the first track. It’s written and approved big time, recording comes later of course.
2. Dirk’s soon nailed the opening tune for the album and he should hand you an update as we go along.
3. I have completed all of J’s lyrics and vocal lines for the first track as well (and yes, I also did the second one), meaning I have recorded the guidelines for him so he knows what I have in mind, and then he’ll work his magic with his own touch as always. All of his lyrics and parts are written as reported previously. I will send him everything as soon as I have done all of the tracks with guidelines and then he’ll enter the studio every now and then to complete his work.
4. Statik Majik is hard at work on the new cover and booklet.
5. Record labels can go fuck themselves. You guys are making this all happen thru The TPH Donation Experiment.
6. You want this new album? Then you seriously need to read this since it explains the only way to get it if you really wanna support what TPH is about.
