And we move forward yet again…

After spending yesterday going thru the recorded guitars and doing some fix-ups, all the Xiphos work is now done for the third track. And yeah, so is the bass. I’ll check the mentioned low-end closer for eventual shit to be replayed after I am done with the orchestral arrangements which are about halfway completed. Some of the guitars for this one were quite a bitch to nail actually, but it turned out great in the end after some frustrating sessions and insane downstroke picking de luxe. So, what we have here now is (soon) 3 completed tunes for our next album. And already we have passed 30 minutes of material, with just fucken 3 songs. Yes, I am not making it easy on myself so do not expect to hear this new album on the radio anytime soon, ok? Anyways, the process goes on and as soon as the orchestral bits are arranged for this one I am moving on to the fourth one. I can’t believe it’s gone this fast to compose for album 8 – it’s just beautiful when it happens, as mentioned before.

Shirts left and more news on the writing process…

First things first. What you see to the left is a me and The Tool of Doom, Death and Domination. Yeah, that would be my beloved Xiphos, my companion in writing the best music you ever heard. Anyways, just a quick heads-up on the process incoming.

Last week I finished up the second track for the next album and it turned out excellent. I aimed for a little different approach in this one and I am very satisfied with the outcome. But now to the funny thing, as I was working with that track, putting down the final touches on it, this particular riff just downright dawned on me. So I started to work on the 3rd track right away (besides that, I have 2 more that are under construction) and suddenly a huge part of that one was composed. It’s beautiful when that shit happens. Inspiration is just pissing down on me and when I listen to what I have composed so far (and what my beloved band mates have said), I have no doubt that this will be a very natural step from “BTNA” towards another level for what we can, and will, do with the coming album. As I have stated (and you’ll hear it many more times during this process) before, we still have a very long way to go before this one is recorded and released – but keeping you updated regularly feels like the right thing to do. You who give a shit about what we do absolutely deserve it. If you have any questions about this coming album or anything else TPH-related, do not hesitate to join our forums and communicate with us. We are there for you.

I’ll get back to composing now, coz as you know – I have an album of insanity to complete.

Pretty much finished up the final orchestration work for the second track this morning, which feels fantastic. Just a few more details to work with before I can consider it completely finished (at this stage, that is… The insane detail work always comes much later). This means it’s time to head over to the third track for the next album. I already have this one started up, so I really look forward to put my teeth into it. As you can see, the composing is going excellent though, as mentioned million of times already, it’s a long way before we are ready to record. I’ll  try to have you up-to-date with the process of everything as we walk down the path of Domination with this album.

Do we have to ask you again?

In other news, the orchestration work for the second track is still in process and it sure takes time to make it all perfect. I can’t wait to finish this one up and head over to the next tune. And the next… And the next… It’s all working out excellent and to just know what the other guys will bring to this material puts a smile on my face. We are definitely enhancing the Domination by the second.
