Philipson lands Ibanez endorsement

It’s not a full endorsement as in them giving me free guitars or anything (yet, hoho), but it’s a really fucken great deal to say the least. I’m picking up my next Ibanez Xiphos shortly, which will make a great addition on my wall and in my music together with my other Ibanez Xiphos. I will also take some promotional photos for some eventual catalogues that are Ibanez related.

I wanna thank Crafton (Ibanez’ department in Sweden) and Musikbörsen, Örebro for sorting this for me.

As soon as I laid my hands on my beloved Xiphos I realized this is the guitar I have been looking for. Never did I think anything would outdo my previous fave axe, but the Xiphos did so, and it did so faster than I can say “Xiphos rules!”.

It feels fucken fantastic to see some support from Ibanez when it comes to my playing, something I never got from the former company whose guitars I used to play (as you can see I’m definitely not plugging them by saying their name, though it’s not a secret what I used to play, haha).

So, congratulate me on landing this deal. I fucken deserve it. Thanks again Ibanez and Musikbörsen for working this shit out in my favor.

Petter S. Freed leaves The Hate

After 6 years and 3 studio albums together Petter, aka Mazza, has asked to be relieved of his duty in The Project Hate MCMXCIX. We wish we could start up some drama here and make it all look like the world’s most fucked up rock’n’roll circus, but we can’t, haha… Thing is, we part the best of friends. We are on exactly the same terms as in the past, the only thing that has changed is that Mazza is no longer a part of the band. Mazza hasn’t been much involved at all (we still credit him for 2 or 3 riffs though, haha) with the writing process for the next studio album, simply becoz he hasn’t been motivated. So, seriously, we weren’t very surprised that Mazza felt he could as well step down from his position as guitarist in TPH. We wanna thank him whole heartedly for the fantastic work he’s done with us over the years, we might very well not have sounded as awesome as we do today hadn’t Mazza been involved in building up the Christ-hating machine you know as TPH over the last 3 albums he was a part of.

Tack som fan, Mazza. We love you. Well, Jörgen doesn’t, but me and Jo do, the rest of the guys don’t know you too well, haha…

This leads us to the following… It’s obvious that we need someone to replace Mazza, and who better than the one guy who’s been writing the coming TPH album together with me? Yes, that’s right, welcome Anders Bertilsson (Ruin, Coldworker) to The Hate. The choice was obvious. Anders and myself accidentally found out about a year ago that we work very well together, one thing led to another and all of a sudden we were writing material for The Project Hate MCMXCIX. And since Mazza didn’t show much interest in being a part of it, we naturally continued writing together. And continued. And continued. Until one day we realized that we had actually completed 7 songs. 7 tunes that sound better than anything we have ever done in the past, and fuck knows we have done some fantastic shit. So, it was a no-brainer to ask Anders to join The Hate as he pretty much already was in the family.

That’s where we are today. We are still finishing up the lyrics for the next album (halfway there) and will soon start to plan the recording, which is a major job to do. But we love it.

So, to finish this off: Thanx for everything, Mazza. Vi syns på krogen, din jävla dåre. Welcome to The Hate, Anders. We are very, very happy with you being a part of The Project Hate MCMXCIX.

A new era of Domination has begun.

Late May update

Yeah, it’s been a while again. That doesn’t mean we are slacking. Very much the opposite in fact. The guitars for the 6th installment of Hate are more or less completed. What we are doing now is just finetuning and adding stuff all the time, since we have nothing better to do while writing and finishing up the lyrics. We are about halfway into that process as well, so as you can see – shit is moving on very nicely.

We have no idea as for now when to record the drums and whatnot, and as we have stated so many times before: we are in no rush whatsoever. There’s a lot of pieces in this puzzle and we deal with them one by one, just to make sure we are reaching perfection. And, well, we are. How suprising. Not.

So, just so you know – we are doing great and will now continue to work on our 6th studio album. More news will come when we have something more to tell you. But now you know what we are up to; creating the best damn album in our career. Again.

Late April update

Over the last month since our last update here, alot of things are in motion… We are almost done with the guitars for the 6th creation of Hate, how about that? You didn’t see that coming, did you? We are going to use the coming weeks to make sure everything is in order when it comes to those axes, add some new shit we didn’t know was supposed to be there initially, etc etc. Basically we will just work our asses off getting these guitars perfect. A process that is very much enjoyable, to say the least.

So far it sounds outstanding. The material is really something else and many are the times when we listen to what we are currently doing and go “how thew fuck did we manage to do this?”. It feels like “Hora” was released just a few weeks ago so to be able to listen to these 7 songs already (though it’s very early in the process) and understand that it blows away exactly everything we have done before when it comes to darkness, emotions and pure domination is a feeling you can’t beat. Until we record our 7th album, of course.

There’s still TONS of work to do with this piece. We haven’t completed the lyrics yet, nor do we have any actual song titles, and the other guys in the band need to do their performances as well, naturally. But to start with the guitars was the obvious choice since K can do that in his own studio and everything is already programmed for drummer Mojjo to learn the stuff to anyways, so…

Now you know that the process of creating our 6th (damn, we are veterans!) album is on its way. We have some video footage of the guitars being done and we will post some of that as we go along. We are planning to document this recording as much as possible and if everything goes as planned we’ll be able to hand you some clips eventually.

In the meantime, hang around our forums and discuss whatever you wanna discuss with us. We are always around to answer any questions the Haters might have. And don’t forget that you can still order “Hora” directly from us, something we would appreciate if you do.

Late March update

In case you haven’t noticed, we have closed the “writing for the next album” topic over at our forums. The reason is simple; we are not writing for the new album (except for doing the lyrics) anymore since the material is fucken completed. What’s next in store is to record what will be the finest hour of TPH so far.

We will start a new topic that deals with the recording as soon as it has started. We will also try to post some photos and videos for you guys of the process. Dan Swanö is about to enter K‘s home studio to set up the shit needed to record the guitars. So those will be tracked over the coming days/weeks/months.There’s some insane work to be done with these guitars, you will understand when you hear the final result, so it will definitely take quite some time to record and perfect them. Also, we have no idea if StormVox wants to release the next piece. Obviously we have sold shit thanx to non-existing promotion, advertising and distribution – stuff we can’t do much about. We have done what we can, but the main work is up to the label if they wanna sell copies, something we have informed them about. But hey, we knew about this and are quite used to it, (man, we worked with Massacre and Threeman in the past, haha), so fuck it. We’ll see what happens further down the road with everything label-wise. As usual, we are in no hurry recording this masterpiece. Coz a masterpiece it will be. Hooray!
