Recording update!

Things are progressing nicely in the Hate camp, to say the least. K finished up the bass a few days ago and it seems like everything is definitely in order with that one. Some additional guitars have been added as well by K, adding even more intensity to this masterpiece (yeah, that’s what it fucken is). The drums are all put down and checked and we have absolutely nothing to complain about with those either. Thomas has done a fucken excellent job, which you will hear. Ms. Jo will come to K’s flat tomorrow (Wednesday) and start preparing for her 4 days recording session with Robban at Rat Productions (the same guy we have used for her vocals over the last 2 albums). Jörgen, the almighty J, nailed a tune last week and then got himself blessed with a cold that has put him on hold for a few more days before he can enter the studio again and continue recording his monstrous growls. He’ll try his best to get some work done this week.

And in the wonderful time of computers we can all work simultaneously with this album which means that Dan Swanö‘s now got all the files from K and has started to work a little with the sound for the album, meaning working as much as possible with the drums, the guitars, keyboards, programmings and the bass since he can’t really sink his teeth into the vocals just yet, for reasons stated above, duh. The guest spots are starting to drop in as well and these guys deserve a fucken round of applause for what they are creating with us on this album, that’s for sure. No, we won’t reveal any names just yet but in time you will naturally know.

We can’t stress this enough and this is how we really feel about it (you know, this is what all artists say – but as we have mentioned when it comes to The Hate; we speak the truth – everyone else lie): this is shaping up to be a complete monster of insane proportions – just as we have said all the time while writing and recording this piece. As soon as we possibly can there will be some treats for you at this site and at our forums – so make sure to check in often.

During Jo’s recording sessions we will keep you updated over at the forums, so keep an eye on that as well in the meantime, ok? And last off, here’s a shot of K just after adding some additional guitars. Happy as an arsonist inside a church. And if you look closely you’ll even see something reminiscent of a song on the monitor.

You will soon experience the latest version of complete Hate and blasphemy. Be prepared…

Be very, very prepared…

And the bass is done!

Yeah, just finished up the bass for the coming monster. Now what’s left is to go thru all the bass that is played and see if anything needs to be fixed before considering it completely done. We are tearing down wall by wall with this recording, now we only have the vocals left. As mentioned, Jo will start doing her stuff next Thursday and it looks like J is actually starting his singing endeavors tomorrow. Things are definitely moving forward, to say the least. Tonight we will finally get all the drums and get them into the songs and swap the programmings for the real deal. That feels great as well. To finally get the tunes with the real drums is always a treat since we have listened to the programmed versions for quite some time now. There’s nothing like flesh and blood when it comes to drums, you know.

So, things are moving forward nicely and within a few weeks Dan Swanö should be able to start mixing this monster if all goes as planned. There is a chance that some videos and whatnot might surface on this site and at our forums given time, you never know.

Stay tuned for more information about the process of this masterpiece, Haters.

Quite huge update for January!

Haters!

We have told you over at our forums that we have a huge update coming your way. We didn’t lie. We never lie. Christ is the liar, not us. So let’s start today’s report then since alot of stuff’s been happening in the Hate camp over the last weeks.

First of all, drummer Mojjo is no longer with us. No, no, he’s not dead – he’s just not with The Hate anymore. We thank him for the great work he did on “In Hora Mortis Nostræ” and wish him luck with his other projects and bands. Conflicting schedules led us to this and we didn’t wanna postpone this recording more than necessary so we let him go and there’s no bad blood whatsoever involved. Again, thanx for the great work, kid.

So, we have a new drummer. A fantastic guy who stepped in on very short notice (3 weeks), determined to learn all the songs and put them down for this coming blasphemous assault.

Thomas Ohlsson

Welcome Mr. Thomas Ohlsson to the fold. Yep, that’s him in the picture. You can find out more about him by checking his profile and/or MySpace. Thomas is a terrific guy full of piss and vinegar, giving a 110% to The Hate and will now hopefully get some recognition for his thunderous work on the coming album. We are extremely happy to have him onboard. The recordings went great and there were really no problems at all putting down the drums. We recorded everything at Studio Seven with Thomas’ and K‘s longtime friend and studio owner Ronny Milianoviczhssshhh ( we will never learn to spell his goddamned last name, but he’s known from some tragic power metal acts such as Saint Deamon, Dionysus and Sinergy) and they really managed to get a great sound. We’d like to thank Jens of Fascination Street for lending us some mikes and whatnot to even further enhance the sound of them toms and kicks. You guys are fantastic.

You wouldn’t think that we are done already with the news, huh? Oh no…

Bassist Michael has unfortunately been forced to skip the recording of this album due to some personal stuff. He definitely wants you to know that he has no plans whatsoever on leaving TPH, he’ll just have to sit out on this album, and this is what he has to say about the situation:

Michael: “Hello Haters!!! Due to an unfortunate situation I have decided to leave the bassduties on this album to Mr. K himself. A combination of timeconsuming studies and a current lack of decent facility to rebuild Royal Death Studios got me to a point where I realized that I wouldn’t be able to focus and create this upcoming monster to satisfaction. I’m not happy at all to have made this decision but quality oversees everything, and as we all know, K will pound the living hell out of the lower strings as he used to do before I arrived at the camp. However, I will be back on the next album… rest assured.
Thanks / Mikey

K and Michael are 2 completely different bassists. Michael is a bassist at heart, K is not. There will be less extravagant mastery (but there will still be some extravagant mastery, hoho) when it comes to the bass this time, but all that is to be compensated by a fuckload of power and punch – which is the way K approaches bass. About half of the album is already recorded as far as this low-end feature goes, which means all the bass should be completed shortly.

Jörgen and Jo also sits out on this coming masterpiece. They will be replaced by Leif Edling and Tarja Turunen. Or not. Nope guys, they are of course with us and will deliver their best performances yet. Jo is scheduled to have her vocals completed by the end of January, 2009. Once again we will work with Robban of Rat Productions during 4 days when it comes to Jo’s stuff. That’s more time than we ever spent on doing her vocals. Just becoz we wanna take our time with this and really push her to the limit. She’ll probably throw in some surprises this time around… You’ll see…

Jörgen will complete his vocals as soon as humanly possible and with some luck he should be done in January as well. He’s currently rehearsing all the tunes and trying out different stuff to make it as good as possible. We can’t wait to hear what The Beast will deliver once again…

After that the whole insane thing is off to Dan Swanö for the mix and mastering. It’s been a damn long process this album (then again, our last album was released in Aug, 2007 so it’s not been that long when you think about it), but now we are moving into the final stages, which feels awesome.

We will definitely keep you updated on the process as we go along, as always, and now you know a little more what’s up in the Hate camp at the moment. Never in our lives have we worked so hard on an album, and we believe it will show in the end. To have Vic Records behind us also feel like a satanic blessing. A match made in Hell. It can’t turn out any other way than awesome.

Stay tuned, we will hand out some more stuff as we go along.

Not so brief update for the early November

It’s been a little silent here as of late (if you don’t count the activity at the forums, a place we always suggest you check out as we are there on a daily basis), but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing going on in the Hate Camp. We actually have shitloads of stuff in the making and now it’s about time we reveal most of it.

We have signed a new album deal, which feels really, really good. Vic Records from The Netherlands is a strong up’n’coming label that finally got their shit going. They have shown interest in TPH for quite some time and now when the label is rolling we gladly accepted their offer and decided to be a part of their roster. Head honcho Roel is an old acquaintance of K‘s which definitely played a huge part when it came down to signing to a label for the next album(s). We believe Vic Records has the tools to finally give TPH the marketing and promotion we deserve. It’s a great feeling to know how much Roel and his company burns for what we do musically, and also knowing that we are a priority for them feels fantastic. We definitely have a nice vibe for this collaboration and our first album for Vic Records is in the making as we announce this relationship of satanic proportions and unholy bodily fluids. Eh, we don’t even know what that means. Anyways, here are some plans for you, straight from the mouth of Hate.

Vocalist Jörgen Sandström will start doing his vocals in a few weeks or so and will work with them from time to time during the rest of the year and probably for a bit of 2009 depending on how much time he can get on his hands. Once he enters the studio he does his stuff faster than a blastbeat so just keep your fingers crossed he can wrap his vocal sessions up asap.

Drums will be done in Örebro, Sweden, January 2009. We are checking back and forth for a weekend that will suit us all and we are getting there. Just some final details to nail, but January is when the drums will be recorded and this will happen in www.studioseven.se, a studio owned by Saint Deamon, ex-Dionysus drummer Ronny Milianosonovabitch-something… We are definitely looking forward to record those toms with him.

Jonna‘s vocals will be done during 4 days in January, 2009 as well. Once again we will enter vocal coach Robban’s (whom we have worked with during the past 2 albums) studio and bring down the heavens and whatnot with some diabolical serenades courtesy of Ms. Jo. We are working on the final dates with this too, but January is determined.

Michael will put down his bass in his home studio whenever he’s got the time. And you all know Michael – there will be some insane bass work done.

This means that we should have everything completed to be delivered to Dan Swanö sometime in late January, early February if everything goes down as planned. We have lived with this material for quite some time now and we have made small adjustments to it all the time, to perfect it even more (perfect perfection, does that even work?). We can guarantee you one fantastic piece of blasphemy when Vic Records release this piece sometime in May/June (if all the schedules work out as planned now). It’s definitely the most brutal stuff we have ever written, and at the same time the most beautiful. We are so confident with these 7 tunes it’s not even sane. We can’t wait to get all of this out to you loyal Haters who always supported us. And to have Vic Records hand it out to you feels like a blessing at this stage as they can actually get the album out to stores with their distribution (something we are not exactly spoiled with).

We are also planning to shoot quite some videos during the rest of the recording (wonder where this will end up in the eventually? Hint hint), and we plan to be able to show you guys some of the process at some stage. And eventually we might hand you a little more than just small clips. You’ll see…

So, now you know what’s up. We are impatiently waiting to finalize this piece and bring it upon the world. Just to see the very same world perish in flames due to said album’s Domination.

And again, don’t forget the forums. Updates happen more often there than on this page.

Paypal option for ordering our latest album

Now that we have finally have a working Paypal-account it’s more or less reasonable that you should be able to order and pay for “In Hora Mortis Nostræ” using that option too, right? Well, now you can. More details at our forums, link here: Order the goddamned album!
