You didn’t see this coming!

It’s 2010 and we thought we should start off the new year by making quite a bit of changes. Some might come as a total surprise, some may not. We were never a band who gave a fuck about what other people think anyways. That sounded cool, huh?

First off we wanna thank Jo Enckell for her work with TPH since 2003. She’s done a great job on the albums she’s been a part of and will always be a huge part of TPH’s history. Yes, Ms. Jo is no longer a part of TPH. There are no grudges held or anything, we just feel it’s time to enter a new stage in our career. This is what Jo has to say about this:

“I’m so happy to have been a part of The Project Hate MCMXCIX, to have been able to participate on four killer albums! This band will always have a special place in my heart. I love you guys and to all the fans – you rule! – Jo”

Many of you will wonder why Jo is relieved of duty after all these years. It’s simple – we have done fantastic albums with her since “Hate, Dominate Congregate, Eliminate” some 7 years ago, but now we feel it’s time to go for another type of vocals when it comes to the female parts. We are looking for something else to further enhance our sound. And we have found it.

In fucken Portugal of all places.

RubyLet us introduce Ms. Roque to the fold. A killer chick with an absolutely fantastic voice including range, dynamics and power. Ms. Roque is destined to make her mark in TPH history with the strongest vocals we have ever had. You will have more info on her shortly in case you don’t have the strength to Google her yourself. In her own words:

“I’m very proud and thankful to be joining TPH, its an honour to be joining forces with such talented musicians. A big thank you to Lord K for believing in me and my «pipes» !  To all the fans of TPH , I promise you guys that I won’t let you guys down! I’m very motivated and ready to kick some serious ass!! Truly yours – Ruby”

Welcome Ms. Roque to The Hate. We are extremely happy to have her on board and look forward to work with her for years and years to come.

We are not done yet though… What? We are changing drummer as well? Yes, we are. Thomas Ohlsson, who played on “The Lustrate Process” and did a great job with it, is also replaced. Why? Well, sometimes the answer is right in front of you, you just forget to look since it’s too close.

Tobben GustafssonOf course Tobben Gustafsson of Torture Division and Vomitory is the man to be the last piece of the Hate puzzle. It dawned on us some time ago; why the hell isn’t one of our fave drummers and best friends playing drums for TPH? We know what this guy is capable of and it’s safe to say we’ll get the finest drumming of our career with the next album by having Golden T on it. As said before, his nickname isn’t fucken Golden for nothing, you know. Here’s what Tobben has to say about being the new drummer:

“I am very excited to join forces with K and J again, but now in The Project Hate MCMXCIX! From having been not so impressed in the beginning, I have grown to like this band a lot over the years. Their sound is truly unique and it’s not the kind of metal I’m used to play, so it will be a big challenge for me to take on this honourable task. It will demand a lot of hard work, blood, sweat and frustration but I know it will all be worth it in the end. Prepare for a masterpiece!”

More changes? Well, kind of… We haven’t heard from Michael HÃ¥kansson in quite some time. We actually don’t even know what he thinks about the latest album. Whatever he’s doing (probably repairing motorcycles and whatnot) we wish him the best, coz Michael is one terrific guy. He didn’t play on “Lustrate” and K doesn’t mind doing bass so he’ll do that on the coming albums as he used to before Michael entered the Hate-fold on “Armageddon” and “Hora”. Thanx for the killer work you did on those recordings, kid.

TPH has always been about progression. We have always wanted to push the limits. We have done that with each and every album and will continue to do just that, even more-so with our 7th studio recording. We are putting gasoline on our fire and it feels great. We are upgrading The Hate.  The work with album 7 has started (actually it started some time back, we just didn’t tell you) and it will be a massive process to complete this one. Things are going really well with the song writing and we are not walking away from the formula that’s made us achieve recognition. We won’t guess when all the material for this album will be completed but let us state that we are far into the process. We will work harder than ever before on this coming, guaranteed-to-be masterpiece. And trust us – it will be downright fucken phenomenal.

Last off, another huge “thanx” to Jo, Michael and Thomas for the work you have done with TPH. We will always love you for it.

Welcome the new blood. A new chapter of the apocalypse just started…

Quite huge update for January!

Haters!

We have told you over at our forums that we have a huge update coming your way. We didn’t lie. We never lie. Christ is the liar, not us. So let’s start today’s report then since alot of stuff’s been happening in the Hate camp over the last weeks.

First of all, drummer Mojjo is no longer with us. No, no, he’s not dead – he’s just not with The Hate anymore. We thank him for the great work he did on “In Hora Mortis Nostræ” and wish him luck with his other projects and bands. Conflicting schedules led us to this and we didn’t wanna postpone this recording more than necessary so we let him go and there’s no bad blood whatsoever involved. Again, thanx for the great work, kid.

So, we have a new drummer. A fantastic guy who stepped in on very short notice (3 weeks), determined to learn all the songs and put them down for this coming blasphemous assault.

Thomas Ohlsson

Welcome Mr. Thomas Ohlsson to the fold. Yep, that’s him in the picture. You can find out more about him by checking his profile and/or MySpace. Thomas is a terrific guy full of piss and vinegar, giving a 110% to The Hate and will now hopefully get some recognition for his thunderous work on the coming album. We are extremely happy to have him onboard. The recordings went great and there were really no problems at all putting down the drums. We recorded everything at Studio Seven with Thomas’ and K‘s longtime friend and studio owner Ronny Milianoviczhssshhh ( we will never learn to spell his goddamned last name, but he’s known from some tragic power metal acts such as Saint Deamon, Dionysus and Sinergy) and they really managed to get a great sound. We’d like to thank Jens of Fascination Street for lending us some mikes and whatnot to even further enhance the sound of them toms and kicks. You guys are fantastic.

You wouldn’t think that we are done already with the news, huh? Oh no…

Bassist Michael has unfortunately been forced to skip the recording of this album due to some personal stuff. He definitely wants you to know that he has no plans whatsoever on leaving TPH, he’ll just have to sit out on this album, and this is what he has to say about the situation:

Michael: “Hello Haters!!! Due to an unfortunate situation I have decided to leave the bassduties on this album to Mr. K himself. A combination of timeconsuming studies and a current lack of decent facility to rebuild Royal Death Studios got me to a point where I realized that I wouldn’t be able to focus and create this upcoming monster to satisfaction. I’m not happy at all to have made this decision but quality oversees everything, and as we all know, K will pound the living hell out of the lower strings as he used to do before I arrived at the camp. However, I will be back on the next album… rest assured.
Thanks / Mikey

K and Michael are 2 completely different bassists. Michael is a bassist at heart, K is not. There will be less extravagant mastery (but there will still be some extravagant mastery, hoho) when it comes to the bass this time, but all that is to be compensated by a fuckload of power and punch – which is the way K approaches bass. About half of the album is already recorded as far as this low-end feature goes, which means all the bass should be completed shortly.

Jörgen and Jo also sits out on this coming masterpiece. They will be replaced by Leif Edling and Tarja Turunen. Or not. Nope guys, they are of course with us and will deliver their best performances yet. Jo is scheduled to have her vocals completed by the end of January, 2009. Once again we will work with Robban of Rat Productions during 4 days when it comes to Jo’s stuff. That’s more time than we ever spent on doing her vocals. Just becoz we wanna take our time with this and really push her to the limit. She’ll probably throw in some surprises this time around… You’ll see…

Jörgen will complete his vocals as soon as humanly possible and with some luck he should be done in January as well. He’s currently rehearsing all the tunes and trying out different stuff to make it as good as possible. We can’t wait to hear what The Beast will deliver once again…

After that the whole insane thing is off to Dan Swanö for the mix and mastering. It’s been a damn long process this album (then again, our last album was released in Aug, 2007 so it’s not been that long when you think about it), but now we are moving into the final stages, which feels awesome.

We will definitely keep you updated on the process as we go along, as always, and now you know a little more what’s up in the Hate camp at the moment. Never in our lives have we worked so hard on an album, and we believe it will show in the end. To have Vic Records behind us also feel like a satanic blessing. A match made in Hell. It can’t turn out any other way than awesome.

Stay tuned, we will hand out some more stuff as we go along.

A small update!

As you know, we are deep into the recordings of our 6th album. We just wanna give a heads up on everything and let you know that we are doing mighty fine. It will still take some month or so to complete it, but it’ll be worth the wait. A larger update is coming in a little while, we just have to sort out some stuff first before we can announce everything. In the meantime, make sure to buy a hoodie or a shirt with the new design – you only have a couple of more days to do so. We stop taking orders on January 2nd, so this is pretty much your last chance. Look at the post below for all the details and information you will ever need when it comes to this.

Just stay tuned to our forums and this site and you will find out all the good stuff in a little bit. We might even have some video footage to show you from the recording, you never know.

Brief update for late October

Just stay tuned for some serious information shortly. We have been silent over here (but not at our forums, always check that out) for no good reason but there’s alot of stuff in the works and in a short bit you will be informed about everything.

Early August update

Again we have been somewhat silent in here, so we’ll hand over a brief update right now then… After taking the summer off (or something like that) we are now starting to plan the recording of the next album a little more. Jo‘s hard at work on her lyrics and J has but a couple of tunes more to finish up before that chapter is completed.

We have had some label interest over the months but nothing is secured whatsoever just yet. Have in mind we still have our gorgeous promo packages to send out to labels to see if we, for once, can score a deal that won’t suck, haha…

As we have said before, the guest contributions for this coming bastard are starting to drop in and they are ever so impressive. Various guitarists, vocalists, jugglers will be present, doing what they are famous for (in case they are “famous”, and we believe some of them actually are). We wanna thank all the people who seem to take pride in doing something small with us on the coming piece – you guys really dominate. And while we are at it – we wanna thank the ones we have in mind for a guest part though we haven’t approached them yet. Thanx for saying “yes” to our request, whenever you get it, hoho…

Basically now, we are just waiting to see what eventual offers will drop in so we know what kind of budget we have to work with for album 6. It’s hard for us to start booking studios and whatnot until then. Drummer Mojjo is ready to put down his shit as soon as he gets a go. Michael is always ready with his bass. K and Anders are pretty much done with their shit already, you know, and J and Jo look forward to deliver some blasphemy again.

So what it’s all about now is just waiting for the appropriate time to arrive so we can really start to take this beautiful piece to the next phase.

Don’t forget the forums, people. That shit is updated way more often than this page. And if you’d spend some time there you’d also know that our beloved webmaster had recently some pretty fucken goodlooking TPH posters for sale too. Unfortunately they’re more or less sold out already. But let this be another reason why you should stick around at our forums on regular basis with the rest of the Haters.
